i purchased this item for obvious reasons and after using it for one day found it to be a complete waste of money. For $80 this device should have been crystal clear, instead there was a lot of static and much disappointment. I have had a few FM transmitters in the past that i purchase for $30 and under, and they were of better quality than this over priced device. While i do enjoy the mounting feature for the ipod it is no good if it does not have clear sound. I recommend that no one purchase this transmitter at full price, even half off is asking for a little much. For shame Belkin, that is the second time you made a major disappointment...

I use this with my 4th gen ipod Nano. After my older Tunebase died, I replaced it with this model, the newer version. I am disappointed. Here are the high and low points of this model, as I see them.
The signal is easily disrupted
There are lots of places on my drive through semi-rural and suburban areas where the signal cuts out temporarily, even though the channel its broadcasting over is empty. I didn't have this issue with the older model. The signal is weaker in general. The older one could broadcast over a channel which still had a weak radio broadcast on it. This one needs a completely empty channel.
Scan feature works poorly
As many other reviewers have commented, this feature is inconsistent. It scans to a channel that has a radio station broadcasting half the time.
There are two pre-sets
My old one had 4 and I used all 4. But two is better than none. I drive regularly in a number of different directions, and like to have pre-sets for each route. But for someone who drives one or two routes regularly, these two should be sufficient.
It has sound quality adjustment
This feature is especially useful when listening to podcasts. It optimizes the sound output for the spoken word.
There is a digital channel display
I love this feature. I know at a glance what channel it is set to.
The flex neck holds iPod in place
I love this. I simply adjust the neck to the right angle. Then if I stop suddenly or turn a sharp corner, iPod stays put. This makes it very easy for me to skip songs, adjust sound quality, or change presets while keeping my eyes on the road.
Bottom line: I would give it 2 stars if I'd paid full price. But I got it for nearly 1/2 off.

When I first heard about this tuner, I was so excited up until I tried to use it. I
could not get it to maintain the frequency and it had poor sound quality. When I called
Belkin for help, they only advised me to try looking up the best stations for my area.
Which I did...and the sound was great...until the car started moving. I found a much
more stable and reliable product with Monster. Don't get this tuner. It sucks!

I had read some reviews warning me about this product, but there were some people who liked it so I decided to try it. Bad decision. Reception was horrible--there was so much noise I could barely even hear anything. I tried their "clear scan" and also manually tuning to a clear channel but neither worked. I returned it immediately.
I wound up buying a relatively inexpensive new radio that took iPod input. Considering the high cost of this Belkin product, the price difference isn't much even including installation and I'd recommend that route for anyone.
